The NOC Index of Titles provides a listing of job titles and their corresponding 4-digit codes. Use this link to search for job titles and codes to facilitate your search for Career Handbook profiles (see the "Search - Index of Titles" information below for more detail).
NOC 2011 provides accurate and up-to-date descriptions for 520 occupational groups (e.g., main duties, employment requirements). The NOC 2011 system is the organizational framework for occupations in the Canadian labour market.
There are three ways to search the Career Handbook Web site:
Descriptor Scale Ratings : Select the descriptors you want to include in your search and enter your specific search criteria.
Keyword: Search for profiles by entering one or more keywords.
Index of Titles: There are four ways to search the NOC Index of Titles to locate profiles or a list of titles.
Quick Search
Enables you to search for occupations according to their respective codes. You may enter up to a maximum of five digits when searching for a Career Handbook group. When entering a 5-digit code, include the period (e.g., 1453.1).
If you do not know the specific code of the group, consider entering only the first digit or first two or three digits to access a list of occupations in a particular skill area.
