Volume 2 of the CCDO provided rated profiles, with narratives, at the four-digit level for approximately 400 occupations. However, with emphasis having shifted from tasks to skills in the current labour market, it is necessary to focus on skills for counselling purposes. The Career Handbook covers 923 occupational groups in a consistent format, specific for counsellor use, and is compatible with NOC 2001. The NOC is the national standard and replaced the CCDO as an implemented system in 1993.
